What we do for your pumps

Five ways to keep pumps on duty — bring us a single breakdown or put the whole fleet under contract.

S-01

Overhauling and revitalisation at our works

At our works

A major overhaul is often impossible on the plant floor: it needs machine tools and test equipment a site rarely has. Send the pump to our Ahmedabad works instead — a practical alternative to the cost of buying new.

  • Strip-down and written condition report
  • Repair and machining to an agreed scope
  • Ask us whether your pump is worth reviving
S-02

On-site field service

24×7

Our technical team comes to your plant at any hour to keep downtime to a minimum, working to three principles: preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance.

  • Impellers, seals, bearings and liners inspected
  • Root-cause analysis after every failure
  • Performance checked again after repair
S-03

Shutdown support

Planned outages

In a planned shutdown every hour is counted. We agree the pump scope with your team before the outage and keep skilled people on the job for as long as the window runs, working towards an incident-free restart.

  • Scope settled before the shutdown starts
  • Crews ready for continuous working
  • A record for every pump at hand-over
S-04

Annual maintenance contracts

Scored on KPIs

Hand us the upkeep of your pumps for the year. Each contract is judged on the figures maintenance heads already watch, and our payment is linked to that scorecard.

  • MTBF and MTTR
  • Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Cost per unit; planned vs unplanned work

Spares

Customised

Customised spares for pumps, with the critical items and repair kits for your plant worked out in advance — so a failure means a swap, not a wait.

  • Spares made to suit your pumps
  • Critical-spares list and modular repair kits
  • Wear tracked to time each replacement

Our sister service, VENU Services, looks after valves: field service, on-call help, shutdown jobs and revitalisation at our works.

02 / Field care

How we look after pumps in the field

Field visits follow three working principles. Together they move a plant from repairing failures towards seeing them coming.

Preventive

  • Regular checks of impellers, seals, bearings and liners for wear, erosion or damage
  • Vibration, flow, pressure differential and temperature tracked over time
  • Lubrication intervals set to the duty; seal chambers and flush plans reviewed
  • Dust, moisture and chemical ingress kept out
  • Suction and discharge piping and alignment checked against cavitation

Corrective

  • Root cause found with FMEA, fishbone diagrams or the “5 Whys” — not just the symptom fixed
  • Failure patterns recorded so they do not come back
  • Critical spares and repair kits for quick swap-outs
  • Flows, pressures and settings recalibrated; efficiency verified afterwards

Predictive

  • Look, Listen, Feel rounds on running equipment
  • Vibration analysis, thermal imaging and oil analysis
  • Efficiency worked out from measured flow, head and motor input power
  • Trends used to plan work before a breakdown forces it

Look · Listen · Feel

Predictive work starts with the senses, on equipment that is running — always under lockout/tagout rules and with the right protective equipment.

Look

  • Leaks at seals and gaskets
  • Shaft alignment and wobble
  • Discolouration or heat damage
  • Instrument readings out of line
  • State of mountings and pipework

Listen

  • Grinding, knocking or squealing
  • The gravel-like rattle of cavitation
  • An uneven note from the motor
  • Whirring or screeching bearings
  • Flow noise in the pipework

Feel

  • Differences in surface temperature
  • Vibration through casing and pipes
  • Pulsation in the discharge line
  • Warmth of the lubrication system

03 / Process

How a job runs

The same seven stages whether the pump comes to our works or we work on it in your plant — with a written report at the start and at the end.

  1. Inspection

We note the symptoms your team has seen and check the pump as it stands.

  2. Dismantling

A careful strip-down, with every part marked for assessment.

  3. Condition report

Findings and a proposed scope reach you before repair work begins.

  4. Repair & machining

Worn parts are repaired, machined or replaced to the agreed scope.

  5. Testing

Repaired parts and fits are checked before the pump goes back together.

  6. Reassembly

The pump is rebuilt, aligned and made ready for duty.

  7. Final report

What we found, what we did, and what to watch from here.

05 / Why us

Why plants call Venus Engineering Works

  • 1960Established

An engineering works, not a call centre

Venus Engineering Works has manufactured industrial valves in Ahmedabad since 1960 — see VENU Valves. The same works and people stand behind our pump service.

  • 24×7On site

    Field service at any hour

On-site pump service is available round the clock, so a breakdown does not have to wait for the next shift.

  • In-houseTesting

    Facilities behind every overhaul

Our works has hydro and air testing, non-destructive testing with ASNT-qualified staff, and a paint shop with dry-film-thickness measurement.

  • KPIsScorecard

    Contracts judged on results

MTBF, MTTR, OEE, cost per unit and the planned-to-unplanned ratio decide how a maintenance contract is scored — and paid.

06 / FAQ

Questions maintenance teams ask

Something else on your mind? Call or WhatsApp us on +91 94291 29327.

Do you overhaul pumps at your works or at our plant?

Both. Major overhauls that need machining or test equipment are best done at our works in Ahmedabad. Inspections, corrective work and routine maintenance can be carried out at your plant. We will advise which route suits the job.

Is on-site service available outside working hours?

Yes. On-site pump service is offered 24×7, so you can call us when the failure happens rather than when an office opens.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based at Kuha, on the Ahmedabad–Indore Highway in Gujarat, and take on pump work at plants in Gujarat and across India.

Is my pump worth revitalising, or should we buy a new one?

New pumps are expensive, so revitalising an existing pump is often the better route. Send us the details and a few photographs and we will tell you whether your pump is a good candidate.

How is an annual maintenance contract measured?

Against a scorecard of key performance indicators: mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), maintenance cost per unit and the ratio of planned to unplanned maintenance. Payment under the contract is tied to that scorecard.

Can you supply spares?

Yes. We supply customised spares for pumps and valves, and can help you draw up a critical-spares list and repair kits for the pumps that matter most to your plant.
